Two men set off on a trip from Mumbai to Bangkok on their cycles, and turned their journey into a short film.

Named as Letters To My Son, the short film features two novice endurance-cyclists on a 60-day journey covering 5,883km, and also making themselves the first Indians to do so.

Prashant Madan and Chidambaram Vijay Kumar had no prior experience in endurance cycling. With a determination to scale the distance and test their endurance, the duo ended up taking a journey of a lifetime that not only took them places, but also gave them an unforgettable experience.

Documenting every place they’d visited en route, the film, which was directed by Prashant, uses the montage technique.

A shot from the film.

Described by Prashant as “a presentation of their ambitions, experiences and indeed, their lessons,” the film takes one through wavering terrains and unpredictable weather, along with the emotional transition that the duo undergo through this trip.

Conveying the message of never giving up on one’s dreams and enjoying every bit of life, the film strikes an uplifting note.
